1. What we collect
Account details (email address, display name, optional bio and profile picture), league activity (picks, memberships, messages), and technical data such as device and usage analytics.
2. How we use it
To run the platform: authenticate you, operate leagues and leaderboards, settle picks, send essential account emails (confirmations, password resets, pick and deadline notifications), and improve the product.
3. Marketing communications (opt-in)
We only send you marketing emails — league news, promotions and offers — if you explicitly opt in via the unticked checkbox at signup or the toggle on your profile page. When you opt in we record your consent and the date and time it was given. You can withdraw consent at any time: use the marketing toggle on your profile page or the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email. Once you unsubscribe you will not receive further marketing messages, though essential account emails will continue. We never sell your details to third parties for their marketing.
4. Legal basis (POPIA)
We process personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. Account and league data is processed to perform our contract with you; marketing is processed only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
5. Sharing
Other league members can see your display name, profile picture, bio and picks (after the weekly deadline). League organisers can see whether you have paid your buy-in. We do not share your email address with other players.
6. Retention and security
We keep your data while your account is active. Access is controlled by row-level security and encrypted transport. You may ask us to correct or delete your personal information at any time.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to processing. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
