American survivor pools are win-only because NFL games almost never end level. Applied to the Premier League that rule is savage — around a quarter of matches are drawn, so a win-only league can be down to a handful of players inside a month.

Win-and-draw is the better default for football. It rewards judging defeat risk rather than guessing scorelines, and it keeps enough players alive into the spring for the competition to feel worth entering.

Bookmaker eliminators often let you reuse clubs, which turns the game into "pick the strongest home favourite every week". The no-repeats rule is what makes a season interesting: with only twenty clubs, you're managing a budget, and the order you spend teams in matters more than any single week's guess.

Two variants show up often. Multi-entry lets a player buy two or three entries, each with its own team pool — good for small groups that need more entries. Lives give everyone one survival token, so a single bad week doesn't end the season. Both extend the competition; both need the extra rule written down before week one.
